Verizon Internet Service
Verizon provides comprehensive IP solutions to help your company increase Internet opportunities. Whether you need Internet access for basic LAN/WAN applications, a web presence for marketing and e-commerce, high bandwidth access up to 2,488 Mbps, Verizon has the products you need.
A Consultative Approach
When looking to satisfy your network needs, consider every option. Verizon can help you analyze and determine if you:
- Have moderate- to high-bandwidth needs
- Require network redundancy
- Require back-ups for your primary dedicated Internet service
- Require SONET-level speeds (155-2,488 Mbps)
- Require basic dial connectivity
- Would benefit from an IP VPN or private IP network
Internet Dedicated Access Services
- 768K to OC-48. Your company can benefit from a full range of access services from 768 Kbps to OC-48 (2,488 Mbps).
- NxT1 MLFR (Multilink Frame Relay) Service. This low-end, multimegabit service delivers flexible, scaleable Internet access from 3 to 12 Mbps. Positioned just beyond the Internet Dedicated T1 Double/Diverse, Internet Dedicated NxT1 MLFR fills the bandwidth gap between an Internet Dedicated T1 (1.5 Mbps) and T3 (45 Mbps).
- Internet Ethernet Services. As an alternative to traditional access methods, Ethernet technology provides connections from 1 Mbps up to 1,000 Mbps to Verizon’s expansive global Internet backbone using standard Ethernet handoffs. Verizon Internet Ethernet services can help you streamline your business’s networking needs with a range of bandwidth options and a variety of connectivity choices. Since you are able to select the bandwidth you need, you can save money. The suite of Verizon Internet Ethernet services today includes Internet Dedicated—Ethernet, Internet Dedicated—Fast Ethernet Port Only, and Internet Dedicated—GigE Port Only.
Customize Your Internet Dedicated Connection
- Burstable: Provides bandwidth on demand at a monthly fee based upon sustained monthly usage. You have access to the service’s full potential bandwidth. Supported services include T1, T3, OC-3, OC-12, OC-48, Internet Dedicated—Ethernet, and GigE Port Only.
- Burstable Select: Similar to the Burstable product, except Burstable Select has two billing components: a monthly recurring charge (MRC) for commitment and a per-Mbps charge for overage that bills in one megabit increments above the selected bandwidth commitment. Supported services include T3, OC-3, OC-12, OC-48, Internet Dedicated—Ethernet, Fast Ethernet Port Only, and GigE Port Only.
- Price Protected: Provisioned as a full circuit with single, monthly flat cost. Supported services include T1, T3, OC-3, OC-12, OC-48, and GigE Port Only.
- Tiered: Provides flat monthly pricing based on a selected bandwidth tier. The full circuit is provisioned at time of installation; however bandwidth is capped at the desired level with an easy upgrade to the next tier. Supported services include T3, OC-3, OC-12, Internet Dedicated—Ethernet, Fast Ethernet Port Only, and GigE Port Only.
Redundancy and Flexibility
Verizon also provides several configuration options for your Internet Dedicated Access services:
- Double – Easily and cost-effectively increases your bandwidth. Both circuits are provisioned to the same gateway router within the same IP hub. Supported services include T1, T3, OC-3, OC-12, and OC-48.
- Diverse – Provides circuit redundancy and load sharing. Circuits are provisioned to separate IP hubs or to different gateway routers within the same IP hub. Supported services include T1, T3, OC-3, OC-12, and OC-48.
- Shadow – Provides a primary circuit and a hot-spare back-up circuit. You must have your primary circuit from Verizon in order to qualify for a Shadow circuit. The Shadow circuit must be the same bandwidth as the primary circuit (i.e., T1 primary + T1 Shadow). The circuit back-up is automatic in case of primary circuit failure. Supported services include T1, T3, OC-3, OC-12, and OC-48.
Internet Quality of Service (QoS)
If you have considered convergence, moving your voice, video, or other key business applications onto one IP network, then you have also considered how to maintain acceptable business levels for those applications. Verizon’s Internet Dedicated Quality of Service (QoS) feature is one of many components that can help ensure that required performance levels are realized.
Verizon Internet Dedicated QoS, a feature of Internet Dedicated T1 and select T3 services, allows your Internet Dedicated connection to offer multiple grades of service. For example, if you wish to protect high-quality voice or video applications or mission-critical traffic streams, the QoS feature has corresponding traffic priority classes to support these applications. Internet Dedicated QoS ensures that traffic you designate as having a higher priority is served before lower-priority traffic.
